History and lore
In history and lore: The Egyptologist Wallis Budge recorded in 1930 that the Egyptian head-rest amulet, the urs, which was set among the equipment of the dead, was usually made of haematite. He also wrote that the Greeks believed haematite had fallen from heaven.
