Fun facts
Epidote is a relatively new crystal to the metaphysical community and was not included in any ancient or medieval lapidaries, the texts that describe crystals and their powers. It was first documented in 1801 by René Just Haüy, the 'Father of Crystallography,' who named it from the Greek word 'epidosis' meaning 'to increase,' because its crystals are characteristically longer on one side than the other. Crystal lore connects that asymmetrical growth habit to the idea that epidote amplifies whatever energy you bring to it, giving more of what's already there.
