Chevron Amethyst, also called Dream Amethyst, forms in natural alternating layers of amethyst and white quartz that produce its distinctive V-shaped banding, each band representing a distinct phase of mineral deposition. The ancient Greeks named amethyst for its supposed power to prevent intoxication, 'amethystos' meaning 'not drunk', and fashioned goblets from it so their wine would look diluted. The chevron pattern means every stone carries a visible geological timeline inside it, making no two pieces identical.
