Summary
Zeolite is not one mineral but a family of them, porous aluminum silicates that grow in cavities in cooled lava, and the glittering white sprays and cushions in shops come mostly from the Deccan basalts of India, often with apophyllite, okenite, prehnite and stilbite growing alongside. The Swedish mineralogist Axel Cronstedt named them in 1756 from the Greek for boiling stone, because a heated zeolite froths as the water held in its pores escapes. In crystal tradition zeolites are stones of gentle support and energetic clearing, kept close to lift the energy of a room.

Care and cleansing
Zeolite sprays are delicate: the needles snap if touched, so lift the piece by its base and dust it with a soft brush or a puff of air. Keep it dry and cleanse with smoke, sound or moonlight.
