Summary

Stibnite is antimony sulfide, a mineral that grows as bundles of long, lead gray metallic blades, the finest from the Ichinokawa mine in Japan and from China, and the ancient Egyptians ground it into kohl for the eyes. In crystal tradition it is a powerful stone of transformation that symbolizes the death of old ways and thought patterns, a stone of new beginnings, personal power, protection and cleansing.

Spiritual meaning

In crystal tradition: Symbolizes the death of old ways and thought patterns, aiding transformation.

Care and cleansing

Stibnite contains antimony and is toxic if ingested: wash your hands after handling it, never place it in water, baths or elixirs, keep it away from children and pets, and do not crush or heat it. The blades are soft (Mohs 2) and bend or break easily, so store it padded. Cleanse with smoke, sound or moonlight.
