Fuchsite is the green, chromium rich variety of muscovite mica, named in 1842 for the German chemist Johann Nepomuk von Fuchs, and its glittering emerald flakes are what give green aventurine its sparkle. Known as the wish stone, a fairy stone and a good luck charm, it is a stone of the Heart and Third Eye in crystal tradition, kept close for hope, strength, inspiration and the quiet help of the unseen.

Fun facts
Fuchsite is soft and flaky, and raw pieces shed tiny green glitter wherever they go. Much of the fuchsite in shops comes from Brazil, often grown together with ruby as the stone sold as Ruby in Fuchsite.
Care and cleansing
Fuchsite is very soft (Mohs 2 to 3) and splits into flakes, so handle it gently, keep it dry and dust it with a soft brush rather than washing it. Store it in a pouch away from harder stones and cleanse with smoke, sound or moonlight.
